Hey there, fellow survivor of life's unexpected bull-I mean nonsense . If you're reading this, chances are you've had your share of run-ins with the universe—maybe even feeling like you've lost this crazy game called life. I freaking get it! Losing a parent is like having a compass spin out of control; one minute you're moving along and then all of a sudden you're navigating through the fog with no idea which way is up. But here's the thing: you're still here and dammit that means something.
Let me begin by saying that it's okay to feel tired and knocked down. Life has a ridiculous way of throwing constant curveballs. But guess what? You're still here and sometimes we just need a moment to catch our breath and have hope. Let's be real—hope can sometimes be like a unicorn, like damn is hope even real? But trust... it's out there...somewhere. Sometimes, hope is just remembering that "You've got this."
So, how do find the unicorn of hope? Well here are a few things I do and some I don't but I know I should..
1. Life is Weird. I'm a dark humor kind of girl. Find the humor in the wild absurdity of your circumstances. Laughter is great medicine.
2. Where your people at? You're not alone. Reach out to those around you. Social media friends are friends too. Community is sometimes just what we need.
3. Feel your feelings. This is the one I am currently struggling to do. Grief comes in waves and sometimes it just hits you out of nowhere. Feel your feelings, its ok to be sad or frustrated,
Life may have knocked you on your ass a few times but you are stronger than you know. You've got this. Rest will come.
